Code of Conduct

If the Board of Elders, when initiating investigation of a member or clergy person's conduct, deems such conduct to be potentially harmful in any way to the well being of other Church members, the Church's ministries or the Church's public testimony and reputation, the Board of Elders, by majority vote, may remove the member or clergy person under investigation from any role of Officer, Trustee, Pastor, Ministry Leader, or other role of service in the Church until the disciplinary issue is resolved. A member or clergy person who has been dismissed from the church, or has voluntarily withdrawn from the Church, has forfeited all rights and privileges of membership in the Church.

Dismissed Clergy

The Governing Board of the Church of Spiritual Humanism has concluded an investigation of the conduct of church member Vaughan Evans, formerlly of the Isle of Wight, UK. It has been determined that the conduct of Vaughan Evans is deemed to be harmful to the well being of other Church members, the Church's ministries and the Church's public testimony and reputation.

Vaughan Evans is hereby expelled from the membership of the Church of Spiritual Humanism and all rights and privileges of his membership in the church and ordination are revoked effective January 8, 2004.

Presbyterian minister rebuked for same sex marriages

The Presbyterian Church seems to not be able to decide on the status of performing same sex marriages by its ministers. The Reverend Jane Adams Spahr, a Presbyterian minister, violated her church regulations in performing sixteen same-sex marriages in 2008.

Despite the tragic history this is great place to start the discussion of the Law of Evolution (yes I have upgraded it!) with kids. Actually the bad history is just as important for kids because we as a civilization will not learn from our mistakes if we hide them from future generations. Truffala trees don't save themselves after all.
