Fraudulent Education Values

"intelligent Design" is just creationism attending the ball wearing an unaltered burlap bag and insisting that it is the finest and most beautiful and graceful ball gown in the history of dancing. It is not a science of any kind, as it refuses and denies the scientific method altogether.

It has no experimenters who are researching hypotheses designed from its claims, as it denies that there are any questions it does not already answer. It has no scientific journals publishing peer-reviewed articles about the outcomes of any ongoing scientific research, as there has yet to be any undertaken.

"Intelligent Design" is a fraud which insists that all of humanity's hard-fought-for knowledge gained by the scientific method of research is nothing but a sham. It insists on the teaching of Christian mythology in science classes where it has no business being. "Turtles all the way down," is every bit as valid scientifically as "The slain Tiamat's body was torn in twain, and the sky was made from one half, while the land and the seas were made from the other half," or creationism's "the universe was made in six days by an omnipotent power which was so exhausted that it took the seventh day off to recuperate," which is to say, NONE.

Mythological values are another matter entirely.

All those who insist that such be taught outside of a class on comparative folklore are insisting on teaching stupidity to our youth, making them unfit for employment at anything more complex than serfdom or cannon fodder.

Re: Fraudulent Education Values

The board was shut down for a few years by the founder of CoSH, RA Zorger. It seemed to me that the board had become a fever swamp of political warfare. Very few of the posts had anything to do with Humanism, and the discussion had descended to the intellectual equivalent of Twitter.

When it came back the age of discussion boards had been largely eclipsed by the rise of Facebook and other social media. It has never reclaimed it's former glory.

There is a Facebook page that is a little more active. You are welcome to join that as well as participate here.
